In celebration of this weekend’s Fancy Flea Lakeland event, we are taking you on a stroll down memory lane! Enjoy a peek into our road trip to #hitthemarket at last year’s annual summer show!
As you know, we try not to play favorites; we can find the unique in every single market, big or small. That being said, we LOVE Fancy Flea! This market is the OG of vintage and up-cycled markets for Tara after having lived in Lakeland. The crowds have grown, the amount of events per year increased, but the charm of Fancy Flea is still unbeatable.
As if some sort of brocante Bat Signal (picture a glowing Edison lightbulb) was sent up, our motley crew convened from St Pete, Clearwater, Carrollwood and even Hudson in search of #marketfinds.
In true Market Mafia fashion, we made a day of it. If you’ve been reading our latest weekly blog series Coffee to Cocktails, you see where this is going. After we #hitthemarket we made a pitstop at Keel and Curley Winery for a tour of their winery and some tasty sips.
The annual Fancy Flea summer show, FRENCH COUNTRY MARKET & BROCANTE, is happening today, Saturday July 22nd from 9 am – 5 pm at the RP Funding Center (formerly The Lakeland Center). Breathe a sigh of relief knowing it’s indoors! Shop over 150 vendors featuring “furniture, antiques, industrial salvage, shabby chic, farmhouse finds, artisan soaps and candles, junk and jewelry, chalk painting classes and more.”
Keep in mind: admission is $5, parking is complimentary, an ATM is on-site, concessions are available and there is a bar serving up beer and wine!
