Market Mafia is a lifestyle brand in the sense that it’s a way of life. Markets are more than a place to shop. Market Mafia are those of us who recognize a market is an experience. It’s the handcrafted goods. It’s the sense of community and camaraderie. It gives meaning to “locally sourced”. It’s interactive art. And it’s about the unique sense of style of those who call themselves the Market Mafia. That’s right, the fashion!

We were thrilled to collaborate recently with another Tampa Bay boss babe and trend-setter extraordinaire, Nikki Platt! Nikki owns and operates Style and we knew from jump meeting her that she had to be a part of the Market Mafia fam. Her business services include fashion styling and wardrobe consulting and she’s been making a name for herself here in the Bay for quite some time now. Just last year, Style Rehab also added an online store section to the site where Nikki sells personally selected vintage pieces.  This lady definitely keeps busy!

Nikki describes her own fashion as “eclectic, daring and bold” stating that she “draws inspiration from everywhere. Instagram, magazines, street style – you name it.” When asked how her own fashion translates to her market wear, Nikki mentions that since it’s most always hot in the Sunshine State, keeping it cool is key. Her go-to outfits for hitting the market usually consist of a “romper with sandals, or denim skirt and a cool graphic tee with flat ankle boots”. We can totally see us rocking both these looks!

According to Nikki, must have accessories for her market outing include “her phone for pics and a fanny pack for hands-free shopping”.

Brocante Vintage Market is Nikki’s favorite to attend in and around Tampa Bay. “Getting there early to ensure I can get the best stuff” is how this fashionista’s ideal Brocante market day would begin. I would probably go to their preview party on Friday night to scope out the goods prior to the big day so I can map out a plan.” As she well knows, Brocante can get really crowded, especially on Saturday mornings, so a good plan is a great idea! Nikki says she would cap off her market morning by “grabbing brunch after with my girl gang to talk all about our treasures”.

“I love Brocante Market! It’s totally up my alley. Vintage jewelry, clothing, home decor and furnishings. I just love all the unique pieces that are available.”

Make sure you check out Nikki’s blog, because we have and we are HOOKED. Also like her on Facebook, follow her on Instagram and Pinterest and tweet at her on Twitter! Plan to hit Nikki’s favorite market – Brocante Vintage Market –  happening this weekend in St. Pete!
