One of St. Petersburg’s biggest and best local festivals is right around the corner! Market Mafia is feeling the anticipation for Localtopia, a community celebration of all things local. The event kicks off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 2 at Williams Park.
The local celebration is in its 6th year. Keep Saint Petersburg Local, the ‘Burg’s independent business alliance, presents Localtopia each year. The organization will be celebrating their 7 year anniversary at the event.
Localtopia features over 200 of St. Petersburg’s local businesses, makers, and community organizations. The festival gives St. Petians a reason to celebrate everything that makes the Sunshine City so amazing. From arts, to food, to music, to culture, the ‘Burg is truly a special place to live.
Shop the Makers
Attendees can peruse the unique makers and merchants who will be vending local treasures like art, clothing and home decor, vinyl records and vintage, and more. Williams Park will also house special “villages” for the event, including the Arts Village, Family Village, Health and Wellness Village, and Plantopia Village. Check out the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the Family Village and step inside the NOMAD Art Bus for your fix of arts and crafts. The Health and Wellness Village will present a Healthy St. Pete stage, featuring demos and outdoor spin rides hosted by Central Cycling.
Eat, Drink and Be Merry
At Localtopia, you can satisfy your cravings with delicious community food at the Food Truck Rally Alley on 4th St. and Restaurant Row on 2nd Ave. Munch on tasty treats from vendors like St. Pete Taco Lady, the Twisted Indian, Locale Market, Urban Brew and BBQ, and more. Plus, sip on local beer from local breweries while you shop. 3 Daughters Brewing, Cycle Brewing, Cage Brewing, Green Bench Brewing Co., Mastry’s Brewing co., Pinellas Ale Works, and more will all be pouring beer on 2nd Ave.
The tunes of local live music will keep you dancing and smiling all day long. Enjoy music by Mountain Holler, Lounge Cat, Rebekah Pulley and the Reluctant Prophets, Danfield, Blackbird Morning, Kid Royal, and Someday Honey. Check out their lineup times here.
Don’t miss out on the games at Park + Rec DTSP and the photo booth by Rollin’ Retro on 2nd Ave. Get ready for free demos and crafts, live screen printing, a local raffle, vendors on wheels, a literary corner, and more! In the literary corner, you’ll find the Bluebird Books Bus as well as two typewriter poetry stations, a build your own book station, and a book and zine exchange.
Be sure to stop by the Welcome Center tent at Localtopia to grab a hard copy of the Market Mafia Hit List magazine, your guide to shopping small in Greater Tampa Bay.
The Dirty Details
This event is stacked with local fun! Localtopia is free, family friendly, and eco-conscious. Mayor Rick Kriseman will be opening the event at 10 a.m.
While the event is free, Localtopia appreciates any donation you can make. Donation points will be located at the festival entrances.
Please consider alternative transportation to the event, instead of driving your car, in an effort to stay green. Localtopia will be offering a bike valet service by Two Wheel Valet at Williams Park. Please be advised that parking on the downtown St. Petersburg streets is limited. The parking garages at the Sundial and the New American Arts and Crafts Movement will be available, too.
